Theres an old song from the eighties by Cyndi Lauper called "money changes every thing."

Ben Rothwell may have been too young to remember it but in a recent interview with THE FIGHT NETWORK he was definitely singing it !! The interviewer had a list of questions and was asking them in rapid sucession.

Rothwell stated that he had trained with big Tim Sylvia for five years and as a matter of respect and friendship he would never fight him.But when asked about the money involved in a fight like that he back-peddled like a clown on a unicycle. lol.

Rothwell then started making comments about other fighters who were friends and still fought such as Barnette vs Monson. And then he followed that up by saying that Tim Syvia and him had fought before when they were younger and he had lost a decision.

Rothwell says that if the money was right It could possibly happen but it may be a boring fight because he and big Tim are such great friends.Rothwell was then asked why he would leave the IFL where he was the heavyweight champion and sign a contract with a newly formed org.

Rothwell stated that his manager Monte Cox (who has all the good qualities of an MMA version of boxing promoter Don King)was the man who got him the fight. He also stated that the IFL and him could not see eye to eye.

If you want a translation of all that you could do it with one word(money). There was also an interview with former UFC heavyweight champ Andre Arlovski in which he stated that his days of night club hopping and drinking are over and that he is totally focused on this fight with Rothwell.

Arlovski stated that in his opinion Fedor Emilienko was the best heavyweight in the world and that he would love to fight either big Tim or Fedor. Also that he had just spent the last 3 weeks in L.A training with top boxing trainer Freddie Roach;who has trained Mike Tyson, Manny Pacquiao, etc. Arlovski seemed ready and focused and I am picking him to win this fight by knockout either in the first or second round.
