The Missing Piece Of The Puzzle: Jason Taylor
Rex Ryan is obsessed with defense, and is trying to turn his own into the Ravens defense. Not that I think he can do that, but his recent signing of Jason Taylor certainly helped
Jason Taylor always seems to get large amounts of sacks, and has never had a season where he had none. Last year he had 5, and in 2002, he had 18, very impressive numbers.
The question is, will the Jets fans imbrace Jason Taylor? Jason Taylor has not exactly been very kind to the Jets, especially in that memorable 2000 game where the Jets rallied from a 30-7 game o take the victory and this quote doesn't help either.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
"It'd be very, very, very difficult for (to sign with the Jets) Very difficult. But at the end of the day, if you can't find a job anywhere else and the Jets call, I've guess you've got to retire, or go play"-Jason Taylor
Jesus Christ, he makes it sound like he has to sell his house or something. Maybe by the end of the season, he will change his mind, but Fireman Ed doesn't like the signing.
"Let's be real. This guy hates the Jets. He hates Jets fans more than anything. Put it this way: For him to come here, it has to be 2 things. Nobody is bothering with him or he wants to win a championship. He's a meathead."-Fireman Ed
In my opinion, Ryan signed Jason Taylor, because he couldn't sign Ray Lewis last year. Not that Taylor is even in Lewis's league, the Jets need a great linebacker to make Ryan's scheme work.
It would be scary to imagine a Jets defense with Taylor. In the D-Back squad, you got Darrelle Revis, the best corner in the league that picks Quarterbacks to pieces. In the linebacker squad, you have Bart Scott, a formidable monster raised by Ray Lewis to search for halfbacks and destroy them like a missile. At D-Line, you have Jason Taylor. A monster that sacks Quarterbacks like a a bull smashing into a man in Pampalona.
JT reminds me ALOT of Terrell Suggs, a strong, powerful Defensive End who can play both DE and OLB. Jason Taylor would fit perfectly in Ryans blitz obsessed defense, which is similar to his father Buddy's. Taylor will end up loving Ryan and Ryan will love Taylor.
