Jets To Cut Alan Faneca

Nick AdamoCorrespondent IApril 24, 2010

According to ESPN's Rich Cimini the New York Jets will cut nine time pro bowl Left Guard Alan Faneca.

The news should come as a shock to most Jets fans, but should they be upset?

It has been said that the Jets have been shopping Faneca because his age has started to show and he has slowed down. They wanted to unload his contract but no one was willing to bite.

When the Jets drafted Guard Vladimir Ducasse in the second round of the draft the speculation began. Ducasse who has a reputation for being an excellent run blocker fits with the Jets system and considered a better option than Faneca.

However Faneca did make the Pro Bowl both seasons he played for the Jets and I'm sure he will find a job very soon.
