Packers Get a Jump On Bears For Safety

John HatelakContributor IApril 24, 2010

The Packers couldn't wait till the Monday night game September 27th to beat the Bears so they move up in a draft day trade to get Morgan Burnett.

At least that's who I believe the Packers thought the Bears were targeting with their seventy-fifth overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft. So I believe they traded up to seventy-first overall to steal Burnett from the Bears.

And so the Bears take Major Wright with their first pick in this seasons draft. He's a hard hitter who projects more as a strong safety rather than a Free safety in my opinion.

He's not very fluid in the hips, and doesn't seem to have the ball skills to be a ball hawk. To me the Bears have a roster full of these guys.

I'd have preferred taking a chance on Akwasi Owusu-Ansah myself. I love his explosiveness. Maybe he can be had on day three.

Where can I comment?
