Examining the Buffalo Bills' Options for Day Two
Today is day two of the 2010 NFL Draft. Based on the selection of C.J. Spiller in round one, Buddy Nix has made it pretty clear that he paid no attention to what everybody else thinks the team needs. They are going to be focused on adding talent that they have graded out to reveal who is the best player they can add right now.
So since today will result in the completion of rounds two and three, who are some of the players that we can expect to look at that make some sense to be wearing a Bills uniform next season? Let's break them down by position:

Offensive tackles—The Bills passed on Bryan Bulaga who wound up falling in the Green Bay Packers' laps at 23. So, today's options include: Charles Brown (USC), Bruce Campbell (Maryland), Roger Saffold (Indiana) and Vlad Ducasse (U of Massachusetts).
Wide receivers—Golden Tate (Notre Dame), Arrelious Benn (Illinois), and Jordan Shipley (Texas).
Quarterbacks—Jimmy Clausen (Notre Dame), Colt McCoy (Texas), Dan LeFevour (Central Michigan)
Defensive lineman—Brian Price (UCLA) Terrance Cody (Alabama), Carlos Dunlap (Florida Univ.), Everson Griffin (USC), Cam Thomas (North Carolina), Terrel Troup (UCF), and swing guy Sergio Kindle (Texas), who could be either a lineman or a linebacker.
Linebackers—Sean Lee (Penn State), Daryl Washington (TCU), Navarro Bowman (Penn State), and Brandon Spikes (Florida).
Wild card—Arizona tight end Rob Grankowski. The Arizona tight end and local western New York player has been thought to be a second-round pick, but will the Bills ignore their needs on the line of scrimmage and draft him?
While I have omitted the other running back options, and defensive secondary options, there are still 22 quality players left for the Bills to select. That also tells me that one of the above players will still be there when it is time to pick in round three.
Looks like today will be another good haul for the Bills, but as we already witnessed, it is impossible to predict who Buddy Nix will be taking for the rest of the draft.
