Happy 33rd birthday to the WWE Champion, John Cena. Cena was born on April 23, 1977 in West Newbury, Mass.
Since his arrival in WWE, John has skyrocketed to stardom, while also making the successful crossover to music, TV, and motion pictures.

While at Springfield College in Massachusetts, Cena (No. 57) was a outstanding football player.
He played center and was voted a Division III All-American by the Associated Press.
The Evolution of Cena Begins
Cena was signed to a developmental contract by WWE in 2001, and assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling where he honed his skills.
During his stay, John wrestled under the moniker of "The Prototype", and held the OVW Heavyweight and Tag Team Championships
Cena Makes His WWE Debut
Cena made his WWE television debut on July 27, 2002, accepting a open challenge from Kurt Angle on SmackDown.
John fought a courageous battle, kicking out of the Angle Slam and enduring the ankle lock before eventually losing the match.
Cena Wins His First Title at WrestleMania XX
On March 14, 2004, in front of 20,000 fans at Madison Square Garden, Cena defeated The Big Show to win the WWE United States Championship at WrestleMania XX.
John's endurance and strength were on full display, as he survived an early beatdown from Show and delivered a pair of FU's to secure the pinfall victory.
Cena Introduces The US Spinning Title Belt
After defeating Carlito to become a 3-time United States Champion, Cena put his personal stamp on the title by creating a custom-made spinning belt.
Cena Becomes WWE Champion at WrestleMania 21
On April 3, 2005, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Cena became WWE Champion for the first time by defeating John Bradshaw Layfield at WrestleMania 21.
John hit his trademark "FU" to secure the victory.
Cena Introduces The WWE Spinning Title Belt
Soon after winning the WWE title at WrestleMania 21, John introduces his second custom-made championship, The WWE Championship Spinner Belt.
Cena Hits The Music Scene
John Cena crosses over onto the music scene with the release of his debut CD, "You Can't See Me."
The CD was released on May 10, 2005. and debuted at No. 15 on Billboard's Top 200. The CD also contained Cena's entrance theme "My Time Is Now."
The Champ Comes To Monday Night Raw
On June 6, 2005, Raw GM Eric Bischoff made John Cena the first pick in the WWE Draft Lottery, bringing the champ to Monday nights.
Cena Hits the Silver Screen
Cena makes his motion picture debut when his stars in WWE Studios' film "The Marine".
The champ plays the role of John Triton, an ex-Marine who pursues a gang of jewel thieves who kidnapped his wife.
The film was released on Oct. 13, 2006, and made over $22 million in box office sales worldwide. The movie also made $30 million in DVD sales and rentals.
The Champ Honors The Troops Overseas
Cena is a popular figure on "The Tribute To The Troops" tour.
WWE travels to military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan during the holiday season, bringing joy and smiles to our fighting men and women who defend our freedom every day.
Cena Becomes A Dual Champion
On January 29, 2007, John Cena teamed with Shawn Michaels and defeated Randy Orton and Edge to win the WWE World Tag Team Championship.
The victory put Cena in rare company, joining Bob Backlund and Steve Austin as WWE Champions who have also held the Tag Team title at the same time.
Cena would go on to win a second World Tag Team Championship with Batista, as they defeated Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes on August 4, 2008 at Raw.
Cena Becomes World Heavyweight Champion
On November 23, 2008, in front of his hometown fans at the TD BankNorth Garden in Boston, John Cena won his first World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Chris Jericho at Survivor Series.
Cena had been out due to a herniated disc in his neck that required surgery.
Cena would become a 2-time WHC at WrestleMania 25, defeating The Big Show and Edge in a Triple Threat Match.
Cena Returns To The Silver Screen
John Cena made his second foray into motion pictures, starring in WWE Studios' film "12 Rounds."
Cena played the role of Danny Fisher, a New Orleans police detective who has to go through a series of 12 challenges to rescue his fiancee' from a revenge-seeking ex-con.
The film was released on March 27, 2009 and made over $25 million in box office sales worldwide. The film also made over $8 million in DVD sales worldwide.
Cena Wins 7th WWE Championship at WrestleMania 26
At WrestleMania 26 in Glendale AZ, John Cena defeated Batista and became a 7-time WWE Champion.
Cena won the match by submission, forcing The Animal to tap out from the "STFU".
Cena joined The Rock as 7-time WWE Champion, second only to Triple H's 8 WWE title reigns.
