On a day where it seemed like anything could happen to the Steelers roster—I mean when your team is listening to offers for it's starting quarterback, even if only to teach him a lesson—anything could happen right?  Well anyway, on that day the Steelers end up going the safe route, and taking what will likely be the player who experiences the smoothest transition to the NFL of all draft prospects selected this weekend.  Pouncey has impressed every scout in the league, and apparently the Steelers were impressed enough to make him the second interior lineman taken in the top 20 this year.

The general thought is that Pouncey could begin his career at guard in the NFL, to ease his transition to the league, and then ease into the center position where he'll anchor any offensive line he's a part of for many years to come.  As long as he spends his career in Pittsburgh, they've likely taken a solid piece of a top offensive line for the next 10-12 years.
