According to reports out of Pittsburgh just hours before the start of the NFL Draft, the Steelers and Raiders may have agreed on an epic trade that would send suspended quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to Oakland for Nnamdi Asomugha and a swap of first-round picks.

The deal is allegedly waiting for league approval.

Asomugha brings an elite corner into the Steelers secondary, but also comes with arguably the worst contract in the NFL. His IDP rank and the PIT DEF rank both go up in this move.

For Roethlisberger...I guess this means the JaMarcus Russell Experiment has six weeks left in Oakland.

If this deal goes through, the speculation regarding the Steelers taking a quarterback early in the draft (Jimmy Clausen) could become a major player. Dennis Dixon played well in relief last year, and the Steelers traded for (and then quietly extended the contract of) Byron Leftwich earlier this week.

Taking a new franchise quarterback could become part of the Steelers' plans, however.
