Taylor To New York: J-A-S-O-N Jets! Jets! Jets!
After Taylor dropped opposing quarterbacks 11 times during the 2007 season, the Miami Dolphins felt it necessary for the defensive face of their franchise to test the free agent waters and depart for the Nations capitol.
Many die hard DolFans were left dumbfounded at the move and angered at their teams front office to say the least. But then No. 99 turned in a miserable 3.5 sack campaign in 2008 and everybody flipped on the former fan favorite.
He's too old to be effective was the word on the street, but myself and many others knew he just missed his aqua and orange. The wounds quickly healed and after leaving eight million on Daniel Snyder's lap, Taylor was welcomed back for a meager sum.

Will Campbell Gets Engaged 💍
His move to outside linebacker turned out to be effective more times than not. Seven sacks, 37 tackles and couple of forced fumbles and his presence was felt even when he was getting rested on the sidelines.
He was back, seemingly for good. Set to ride out into the Hall of Fame sunset with a Dolphin on his helmet. But halfway through that seven sack season, Miami actually did broach the subject and put an offer on the table just in case the implied long term reunion was just another phase on indecision. JT said, "Lets just wait and see what happens when the off season unfolds." The Fins countered back back with, "This is it until after the draft. You can't say we didn't try."
The offseason unfolded with a bang. The New York Jets pushed hard and landed a handful of impact players in hurry. Talks of a Taylor defection were almost instantaneous.
Miami fans were suddenly sick to their stomachs. They said, "We don't care if you go to a lousy team like the Skins, but the Jets are off limits." Skip to present with Miami making a big splash with addition of Brandon Marshall and the ability to land some defensive help for Taylor in the draft.
So the rumors quiet slightly and there is hope that JT will stay home and stick it out. But here we are a day before the draft begins and Jason Taylor jumps the gun. And abandons the ship he surely could not have conceived as sinking.
The Dolphins get instant offensive credibility with Marshall, they get back a healthy Ronnie Brown and a young and talented defense with another season of experience under their belts. I can see why the Jets might be an enticing destination for a role playing defender on the downturn of his illustrious career, but not to your sworn arch enemy to the East.
New York does have a second year gunslinger with a glass ceiling and a top tier wideout in Braylon Edwards to match the Marshall move. Also consider their defense was tops in the league before the addition of Taylor, so all he has to do is avoid getting in the way of progress.
Tack on the leagues active touchdown leader in LaDanian Tomlinson, Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes and a shut down corner in Cromartie to go opposite arguably the best in the league in Darelle Revis and seemingly all the parts are in place for the Jets and JT wants to play his part.
Tim Lenihan from the Boston Globe says, "It's great to see him in the Green and White. I'm just sorry the Pats didn't scoop him up first. The AFC East is going to be fun to watch this season." I couldn't have said it any better myself. I am so ready for some Dolphins vs. Jets football. Let's get it on!!
