The Eli Manning Era
Eli Manning wasn't the Giants true leader on offense until he led his team on a magical playoff run that ended with a Super Bowl victory in 2008. In fantasy football, Manning was just a blip on the screen until he broke out last season and became a solid fantasy quarterback.
With a respectable offensive line and three talented young receivers, Manning is primed to have another solid fantasy campaign, although his defense will probably struggle in a rebuilding phase.
As long as second year receiver Hakeem Nicks has a strong offseason, he will start opposite Steve Smith in the offense. Look for Nicks to build on his rookie season.
Rebuilding On Defense
No one wants to admit it, but the Giants are in a small rebuilding phase on defense right now. With lingering injuries in the secondary, and the loss of line backer Antonio Pierce this team is in need of a healthy season and new leadership.
While many will pick the Giants as a team headed back to the playoffs, it will be up to their defense to play respectable football in order to fulfill those expectations.
