Toby Imada vs. Carey Vanier
Roger Huerta is 21-3-1. Huerta submitted Chad Hinton by kneebar, advancing him to the semifinals. Pat Curran holds a record of 10-3-0. Curran won his latest match by knocking out Mike Ricci in the first round.
Toby Imada is 24-13-0 and recently submitted James Krause by armbar. Imada lost to Eddie Alvarez in the first season of Bellator, but he is famous for his inverted triangle choke that he pulled off against Jorge Masvidal. Carey Vanier is 8-2-0. Vanier defeated Joe Duarte by TKO to advance to the semifinals.
Each of the four semifinalist qualifiers put on good performances in their first matches of Season Two. The competition will undoubtedly be tougher than the first round, though the current lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez will have his hands full until he faces the finalist who earns the right to face him.
Alvarez is schedule to fight against Josh Neer in a non-title super fight, which is scheduled for May 6. Neer holds an MMA record of 27-9-1 and a UFC record of 4-5-0. Alvarez will have his wrestling ability tested as Neer is excellent on the ground, but it will help him remain strong for the championship title match between one of the four lightweight semifinalists.
