MMA, Quinton Jackson, Forrest Griffin, UFC, Breaking News

It has just been reported, that former UFC light heavyweight champion, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, has been arrested in Costa Mesa, California.

It has been reported that Jackson rammed his custom Ford F-250 pick-up truck, complete with his likeness painted on the rear driver and passenger-side doors, into at least one car.

It is also believed that Jackson was involved in at least two separate collisions while driving on the highway.

A patrol officer attempted to pull Jackson over after he was seen weaving in and out of traffic with a flat tire.

Rampage ignored the police and continued driving.

Losing control of the truck, Jackson drove up onto a sidewalk.

He continued on, colliding with a vehicle in an intersection and running several red lights.

Eventually, Rampage brought his truck to a stop and was arrested at gunpoint.

He was brought to Costa Mesa City Jail where he was booked on charges of felony evading, reckless driving and hit-and-run.

Jackson was sent to Orange County Jail, where he is being held on $25 thousand bail.

As UFC and MMA fans worldwide will remember, it has been just over a week since Rampage lost his belt via unanimous decision to current champion Forrest Griffin.

Is this just the beginning of a downward spiral?

  1. it sure looks that way..cant help but feel bad for the guy..

    1. it makes you wonder, if he wasn't drunk, what was going on. Being drunk would at least explain it.

  2. Wow! Thats crazy. I think he is pretty much screwed. That is some serious stuff. Not sure what to say. I like the guy but I don't think the court should go easy on him just because he is a celebrity.

  3. There's some news that makes this story a tiny bit not as scary. (1) It appears nobody was physically injured - that is very good news; (2) reports are saying drugs/alcohol are not an issue in this incident. If there are no additional criminogenic circumstances tied to this story, "Rampage" could come out of this okay, provided that he addresses the incident publicly and does not get in trouble again.

Of course if there is more to this story, well, that would just be speculation at this point. Hopefully, there is nothing else, for his sake and for the sake of MMA. Apparently, Dana White got down to Orange County and bailed out Jackson for $25,000.

  4. this news just ruined my day. Rampage is one of my favorite fighters and I was bummed when he lost his belt and now this.

    1. Sorry about that.

    2. Damn it Jon why did you make him do that...LOL

    3. By the way that was a joke about Jon appologizing for the article...I meant nothing by it, just poking a little fun.

  5. ha nah its cool man, not your fault

  6. db

no way should they let this guy out and what is dana white doing bailing him out obviously when you evade and run from the police you are a complete scum of the eartyh fact ...not supposition!

  7. A few things of note:

    1. Rampage owns an F-350, not 250.

    2. Rampage faces 3 felony charges and not small ones. I'm not sure of the UFC guidlines about this sort of thing but I don't know if they will allow convicted felons to participate in the sport. I understand Quinton isn't convicted of anything yet but I don't see how he could get off having been caught at the scene red-handed.

    3. This is another set-back for MMA's ascension into the public mainstream. Maybe' it's not. It seems par for the course now for professional athletes to be irresponsible and criminals. Felony evading, rape, steroid use..... maybe this is THE sign that MMA is a legitimate sport in the publics eyes!

  8. Yea this whole thing is just strange. I was really excited to see who he would fight next with all the talent in the 205 division... I unfortunately agree he shouldn't be let off with a slap on the rist because he's a celebrity. I'd be pretty god damn pissed off if someone hit my car with an f350 on the freeway and it turned out to be an athlete on a joy ride.

  9. Apparently he went crazy, he is being held for mental evaluation now. It just makes you wonder, why would someone who basically has the world would just snap like this.

  10. Man Rampage, what were you thinking! At one point you were on top of the world and people like me just wish we could be in your shoes. If only I had that power in my hands I would not jeopardize a great career for anything. From hero to zero, because all the people that were in harms way are just lucky they got to walk away. I still love you Quinton, but crap. Like I always say "Was it worth it". For now I hope to see you in the cage again but the court system is not going to let this blow over easy. Hopefully your celebrity will help you a little, but the happiest guy is Forrest because that just means he won't have to fight you no time soon. Peace and good luck Rampage.

P.S. Chuck take it easy on Forrest now that iron jaw is gone out the picture.
