The name to watch in the Big East in the upcoming season is: Victor (Vic) Anderson. After winning the Big East Rookie of the Year in 2008, he was plagued by injury in 2009 and did not accumulate the stats he was capable of. He will look to eclipse his amazing 2008 season in 2010.

He took time to do an interview with me:

Tyler Mascaro: Coming out of high school, what was the recruiting process like? What
colleges were interested in you and why did you choose Louisville?

Vic Anderson:Coming out of high school the recruiting process was pretty cool at times became overwhelming and was ready to make a decision. I was committed to WVU for much of my high school days when I committed to them Soph. year. I also had interest in UK, Michigan, Mich. St, Fla.St, Tennessee and South Fla.

Tyler Mascaro: In 2008, you won The Big East Freshman of the Year Award! Has this been your best season ever in your football career?

Vic Anderson:I feel like team accomplishments are better than individual accomplishments. Although I think that award was great and is a big accomplishment I will have to say when I was a soph. In high school and helped Saint Xavier High School win a state title was my best season ever.

TM: What has been your most exiting moment in your football career?

VA: My most exciting moment was earning a scholarship and getting the phone call telling me I was chose to be the Big East Freshman of the Year award. I know my grandmother is proud of me as she watches over me everyday.

TM: Now that you are not an under-underclassman any more, are you ready to step
up and act as both a captain, and a role model for the Louisville
underclassman?

VA: I like to lead by example but as I grow into new roles I will have to be vocal and help the younger guys adapt and learn how to study film and all the little things to better their knowledge of the game.

TM: What accessories do you wear during games? IE: Visor, back plate, arm bands?

VA: I wear a nasal strip.

TM: What type of workouts do you do in the offseason to stay in shape?

VA: I do alot of plyos to help with my cutting ability, strength and balance.

TM: Who was your role model growing up?

VA: My grandmother Lola Mae Reynolds was my role model and when she passed away on Thanksgiving morning year 2000.
