Anderson Silva fighting in his prime. Ahhh, what could be better? A good even fight where anything can happen. This type of fight can be found in either Frankie Edgar vs. Hermes Franca. Here we see two men who have good hands and one that has Jui Jitsu while the other has great wrestling. This seems to balance out.
In this fight we may see a standup war in the end though. As Edgar may not want to takedown Franca down and Franca will be unable to take Edgar down. Seeing as both men have even hands it should be exciting as both will lay it all on the line as both were one time title contenders. A win on the 19th could mean redemption big time for either fighter. Its always a joy to see two greats go toe to toe. Get ready for fast paced action!
Wars not your cup of tea? Like a quick finish? Look no further than Anthony "Rumble Johnson. I remember watching him in his fight in Denver and just saying, " Good God this guy is explosive!". I like to think of Johnson as a heavyweight Melvin Guillard. He's quick, crisp, and deadly accurate. His last two fights on UFC Fight Nights took a combined 1:04 for him to KO two opponents, KO'ing Chad Reiner in 13 seconds! This guy is the real deal so don't blink when you watch him!
Oh, knockouts not for you either? Feel free to check out JT Money's vicious takedowns against a bonafide takedown machine himself in CB Dolloway. This one should be a war of will and who can impose their's based on the fact that both have almost identical styles. Also, let's not forget Irish Jake O' Brien the man who shut down the Texas crazy horse and left most UFC fans at the time stunned. He's back to show that wasn't a fluke and I don't see him allowing himself to blow this chance. His technical wrestling and solid ground and pound will be on display.
Although Cain Valasquez is also a good wrestler I just believe that Jake is too good to have his quick shots denied all night. Cain will lose and get taken down and buried by his barrage of wrestling strength. Jake is alot like a heavyweight Jon Fitch. If you like to see technical wrestling this is the bout for you!
This is certainly going to be a fantastic card, but don't use this as an excuse not to watch Affliction. Sure some don't want to pay for PPV and I for one don't have the cash to. What is the solution? Get a bunch of your buddies and go to Hooters to watch maybe the most important PPV's of our time. Also, Hooters has multiple TVs so you can watch both. A perfect solution. So Dana can't make you pick and choose after all! Ahh MMA and Hooters, what could be better?

My grandson would watch all the MMA events at Hooters if he had his drivers' license now and not six months from now. Unfortunately he will either end up watching with granny or have friends over at his house. We both like Edgar and O'Brien for their wrestling skills, but will probably be watching Affliction and trying to tape UFC.

I believe the edgar-franca fight will be the best and most competitive fight. I predict edgar will take down franca after hermes throws one of his signature overhand bombs.

I agree. I think the Silva-Irvin fight is merely a formality, a sort of exhibition for Anderson to see how he handles fighting at 205. The Edgar/Franca fight will be close, and either Edgar will wrestle his way to a decision if he can avoid getting subbed, or the winner will be decided on the feet.

Franca vs Edgar should be awesome! Both have victories over Spencer Fisher!
It's basically a toss-up, but I'm gonna go with Franca to win!!!!
