With the 2010 NFL Draft quickly approaching, everyone from experts to novices have posted their mock drafts.
I have been a big advocate of not predicting trades in my mocks, but with the NFL world going trade happy that past several weeks, I have a feeling that there may be a ton of wheelin' and dealin' in the first round.
Along with the help of fellow Cleveland Browns featured columnist, Samuel Ingro, the following are hypothetical trade scenarios that may or may not occur when draft day arrives on April 22.
(Please remember that this is a hypothetical so do not take this too seriously.)
St. Louis Rams-Pittsburgh Steelers Trade
Rams get:
Steelers' No. 18 pick
Steelers' First Round Pick in 2011
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger
Steelers get:
Rams' No. 1 overall pick to draft quarterback Sam Bradford
Steelers brass has been very vocal about their disappointment with Big Ben so don't rule this out.
St. Louis Rams-Washington Redskins Trade
Rams get:
Redskins No. 4 pick
Redskins 2011 Second Round Pick
Quarterback Jason Campbell
Redskins get:
Rams No. 1 overall pick to choose Sam Bradford as their future quarterback
Before you say, "This is dumb because the Redskins just got Donovan McNabb," they have also said they do have an interest in acquiring Bradford to the media, according to National Football Post.
Buffalo Bills-Seattle Seahawks Trade
Bills get:
Seahawks No. 6 pick to choose O-Lineman Bryan Bulaga
Seahawks get:
Bills' No. 9 pick
Running back Marshawn Lynch
This trade can only happen if Bulaga is still on the board and then the Bills will look to replace Lynch with Jahvid Best (or another RB) in a later round.
Lynch gives Seattle an upgrade in their running game and allows them to focus on other players not named C.J. Spiller.
Cleveland Browns-Philadelphia Eagles Trade
Eagles gets:
Browns' No. 7 pick and choose Eric Berry
Browns get:
Eagles' No. 24 pick and may choose Colt McCoy to pick him before other teams get a chance to.
Eagles' No. 37 second round pick
Eagles' No. 70 third rounder
This deal is obviously pending on if Berry is still available, but according to the draft chart values, the Browns would get great value back in this deal since they need to fill many holes.
New England Patriots-New York Jets Trade
Pats gets:
Jets' No. 29 pick
Jets' Third Round pick in 2012
Jets get:
Pats' No. 22 pick and choose Jared Odrick
Another possibility as long as Odrick is still on the board, and we all know how much the Pats love to trade down to acquire more picks.
You amy also be thinking that this will not happen because both teams are in the same division, but it has happened before with the Browns and Ravens, when the Ravens traded up to get Haloti Ngata and don't forget about the Eagles-Redskins Donovan McNabb trade.
It is rare that an inter-division trade happens, but it can happen as well.
Any other trades you can think of?
Please list any trade hypothetical trade you have though of in the comments section below.
