American Lemans Series Results From Long Beach.
Simon Pagenaud edged Adrian Fernandez for the victory in a thrilling finish Saturday on the Streets Of Long Beach after Fernandez who was having brake problems lost it and Pagenaud was able to pass him and hold the race lead and get the victory. The Aston Martin of Fernandez started from pole and was very fast. The Aston Martin just seemed to pull away on the straights but Pagenaud would close in the corners as it is very tight on the Long Beach track. The Patron Highcroft Racing team will have plenty of time to celebrate a hard earned win before Laguna Seca May 29th.
Patrick Long and Jorg Bergmeister in the Flying Lizards Porsche 911 GT3 won the GT Class this was the second straight win for Long and Bergmeister at Long Beach. Johnny O'Connell and Jan Magnussen finished second in the Corvette.
In LMPC Gunnar Jeannette and Elton Julian won the class in the G-Oils Green Earth Gunnar Oreca FLM09 with a lap over 12 Hours Of Sebring winners Christophe Bouchut and Scott Tucker in the Level 5 Motorsports entrie at Long Beach.
Butch Leitzinger and Juan Gonzalez won the GTC Class at Long Beach for Alex Job Racing, in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car as they also took the win at Sebring last month. Leitzinger and Gonzalez were 1.753 seconds ahead of second place James Sofronas and Bert Curtis.
The next round of the 2010 American Lemans Series will be at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on May 29th at 1:30pm Eastern you can catch that race on CBS Sports.
