Beltran Still Not Cleared to Start Rehab
The Mets need Carlos Beltran. The top of the order has not been consistent enough and the bottom of the order has been just plain bad. Beltran would help with both of those by injecting another potent bat into the lineup and by moving everyone down a peg it would help provide depth at the bottom of the order.

Unfortunately, according to Mike Puma of the NY Post, the Mets center fielder still has not been cleared to even start running yet and is waiting down in Port St. Lucie for the word to begin. The team said that there has been no setbacks on his right knee that underwent surgery back on January 13.

Thoughts: It seems like the Mets are just taking their time with Beltran rather than risk a setback. He really should start his rehab soon no matter how conservative they take it. Once he gets started it is expected to take 6-8 weeks to get him back to Flushing. So at this point we’re looking at the first week in June.
