2010 NFL Mock Draft, Rounds 1-3: Gerald McCoy and Colt McCoy Unite To St. Louis?

Now less than a week away, the 2010 NFL Draft is inching closer and fans are swarming to the latest news, information, and mock draft predictions dealing with their designated teams.
I personally can’t wait, being a college football and NFL enthusiast as it brings the best of both worlds into one ground-breaking event.
I’ve recently submitted a few “outside the box” mocks, but it’s now time to uncover the first three rounds, team-by-team before the draft opens its highly anticipated doors.
The quest begins with the St. Louis Rams.
Round 1, Pick 3—Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
When you finish dead last in the league, you’re open to any trade offers. Stockpiling is the best option, as St. Louis has many needs to address. The Rams receive the Bucs’ 1st round and 2nd round picks (35th overall) in exchange of the 1st pick overall.
After the Bucs go with Ndamukong Suh, the Bills leap to the No. 2 spot, and steal Sam Bradford.
But this isn’t disappointing news to the Rams, as they find a dominate and versatile lineman with great speed, and exceptional work ethic. Gerald McCoy is a leader on and off the field and has the unlimited potential to become a perennial Pro Bowl candidate.
Round 2, Pick 1—Colt McCoy, QB, Texas
During Texas’ Pro Day, Colt McCoy put up a stellar performance, completing all of 58 passes. Not only is that a better percentage than that of Sam Bradford, but Colt McCoy stayed healthy, actually playing most of his senior season.
The Rams reportedly met with McCoy in a private workout, and find their franchise quarterback in another McCoy.
Round 2, Pick 3—Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame
After restoring the franchise with their new leader in Colt McCoy, the Rams must pick up a standout receiver for Colt to work with.
What Golden Tate lacks in physicality and less-than-golden route running, he makes up for with exceptional work ethic, character, leadership, stellar catching ability, and mind boggling speed.
Verse of this piece
“So faith comes by hearing the Good News, and people hear the Good News when someone tells them about Christ.” —Romans 10:17
Round 3, Pick 1—Donovan Warren, CB, Michigan
Donovan Warren’s stock has dropped faster than a refrigerator down a zip line.
He was projected as a middle 1st round pick to an early second round pick all the way from October to the middle of February, but now appears as a late round pick within a few sources.
Fortunately, Warren’s superb skills set launch him forward to the start of third round.
Donovan Warren has good size and hands and tackles very well. Though he didn’t have killer numbers in college, it was due to the fact that QBs feared throwing his way.
He has excellent man-to-man and press coverage cover skills, and will significantly upgrade the Rams’ abysmal secondary from day one.
