Happy 56th birthday to WWE legend and Hall of Famer, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Roddy was born on April 17, 1954 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Piper began wrestling professionally at 16, and his career has spanned over three decades. He wrestled in the AWA and NWA before coming to the WWF in 1984.

In 1992, Roddy won his only singles title in the WWF, defeating The Mountie at the Royal Rumble to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship.

Piper teamed with Ric Flair at Cyber Sunday in 2006, and defeated the Spirit Squad to win the World Tag Team Championship.

Despite all of his accomplishments, Piper will always be remembered for his legendary interview segment, "Piper's Pit". In an era when only the world champion got to talk, and the wrestlers were the interviewees-not the interviewers, Piper's Pit was an innovative idea that was way ahead of it's time.

Roddy Piper will be remembered as one of the greatest antagonists in wrestling history, and despite not winning a world title, he was widely considered as one of the greatest main eventers of his generation.
