Lions Secondary Officially Gutted ....hello Mr.berry and Mr Haynesworth
As of today the lions cut Kevin hobbs, Kalvin pearson, and Brian witherspoon. Not only that but also with Philip buchanon getting the old heave ho'. We have officially gutted our secondary, And we all should say "Bout damn time".
Last year's draft wasn't hard to figure out at all really if you think about it. We all had this feeling Matthew Stafford was the guy, and it turned out to be the right call, I don't know why you would draft a linebacker number 1 overall who only plays for 2 downs. but mayhew and company did extremely well I thought. Louis delmas being the key in the draft, We all knew matt was gonna need time to be groomed into the spot, but I don't think anybody expected Mr. delmas to come out like he did.

If you take the great first year by delmas, and add 2 young 3 year vets in Jonathon wade and Chris houston, Also Daniel bullocks, Ko Simpson . This smells like something big is about to happen by Thursday or Friday. With BIG albert on the block, and needing a running back worse than Big Ben needs to force himself on women. I do think making a trade with Washington would be a huge step for us. getting Albert not only would solidify our D-line, but your looking at a guy who is gonna get double teamed, which we need a guy there who is good enough that a team has to double or triple him, Big baby use to get that treatment, but he doesn't have half the fortitude big Albert does. if we could also somehow get Clinton Portis thrown in, now were talking about Portis and smith sharing carries, and can still draft a back later in the draft. I understand we would have to give up alot to get what we want so here is what I'm thinking.
We trade our #2 , next years 3rd round pick and cliff avril ,
we get BIG Albert, Portis and there #4.
Even if they want more, hell they can have next years 5th rounder too for good measure. with that I think we take Eric berry at #4, OT in the 2nd, 3rd round is basically a toss up, I might go linebacker there, or defensive end.
Those are quick ways to make the lions into something a hell of alot better than anybody thinks, plus if we sign Lito Sheppard , get some DB'S via UFA'S, then were looking at good depth. I love Mr.suh Like the rest of you, but if you have the chance to get a proven play-maker and stud in the middle of that line, then you do it. You don't play the what IF game, If you have Eric berry who not only was a standout and shutdown corner, He also played safety and linebacker for the vols, but did you know that when he switched positions like that, he played at the same level of excellence , which says a hell of alot about his talent.
This is my first little article So please don't roast me to badly. Were lions fans we get crapped on by people all day long because there not very good. I dont know about you but the past 10 years have been a long and horrid decade of lions haters running there mouth, mayhew if you have the stones get these deals done so we can all celebrate together.
