Lets Take a Look into The Future This Friday: Fernando Guerrero

Tyler CurtisAnalyst IApril 16, 2010

Fernando Guerrero is a middleweight prospect from Maryland. He has built up a good following in Maryland and is now looking to take the next step.

Record: 17-0 (14 KO)

Ring Ranking: Not ranked

Weight Class: Middleweight

Age: 23

Height: 5’9”

Stance: Southpaw

Best Wins: Gabriel Rosado (UD 8), Ossie Duran (MD 10)

Losses: None

Titles Won: Interim WBO NABO middleweight title

Rounds Boxed: 57

KO Percentage: 82.35%

Fights I want to see: I would like to see him fight another prospect to see what he has. A fight with Daniel Jacobs, although highly unlikely, would be a good test.

A more likely prospect fight could be against Craig McEwan. They are both undefeated, but Guerrero is by far the better fighter.

If neither of those could happen a fight against someone like Sam Soliman would be interesting.

What’s in his future: He fights this Saturday night on Showtime against Michael Walker. This should be a fairly good test and it will get him some exposure.

Although he has good power, Walker has never been knocked out so this should be a test for his power.
