It was just a matter of time before a European club were publicly linked with Fredy Montero, the Seattle Sounders' Colombian star forward.
Montero has given Seattle fans many goals to enjoy in over a year for the Sounders, but he will not be wearing the colors of the Emerald City team for much longer.
This "interest" from CSKA Moscow has been denied by the club, but Montero threw out their name in an interview with Caracol Radio in Colombia.
The possible transfer would have to occur after the World Cup is over. Montero also claimed that teams from Holland and Turkey were seeking his services.
This only confirms what many MLS fans knew already, one of their top talents will be shipping off to Europe within the next year for good.
The 2010 Summer Transfer window is already being watched closely by MLS fans with Landon Donovan trying to make his move to Everton permanent after South Africa.
Also, rumors that older European stars like Patrick Vieira may come state-side have been around for a while.
With CSKA improving their European reputation with a quarterfinal appearance in the UEFA Champions League, they will no doubt look to gain more weapons and if Montero does move to the Russian capital, it would be a great pickup.
