New Jersey's Michael Gilchrist Commits to Kentucky Wildcats

Michael Gilchrist is the class of 2011's consensus No. 1-ranked player. Kentucky is near the top of the list of schools with the best recruiting staffs.

The two can now go hand in hand, as Gilchrist has announced his intent to commit to Kentucky for his college basketball career.

Gilchrist cannot sign paperwork until November, but his decision looks to be pretty solid.

John Calipari hopes to have 11 players on scholarship next year and probably the same number the year after, Gilchrist's year.

Recruiting doesn't look to just be stopping with these monster signings, as Kentucky is still in the mix to possibly get a hold of Josh Selby, C.J. Leslie, Doron Lamb, Terrence Jones, and possibly even more.

There has to be something about Calipari that makes him irresistible to high school standouts. Whether it is the nice uniforms of Kentucky, the nice campus, good-looking area, or the nice people, he reels them in. Kentucky looks to be a powerhouse the next few years.

Derrick Rose, Tyreke Evans, John Wall, Brandon Knight, and now Michael Gilchrist. The future is now.
