Time Ticking for Big Ben: 5 Potential Trades for Ben Roethlisberger

News emerged today that the Steelers have had talks internally with regards to potential trades involving their franchise quarterback.

As a Steeler fan, it almost feels treasonous to discuss trading Ben Roethlisberger, but the Steelers have shown zero tolerance for players with poor off-field behavior.

Further, if Ben were to be implicated in any further transgression, the Steelers would have let him go at a bargain price.

Mike Tolmin is of the opinion that Dennis Dixon could be a starting quarterback in the NFL, thus making Roethislberger mildly expendable.

Ben Roethlisberger to the Bills

The Bills are in desperate need of a quarterback, more specifically, a cold weather quarterback.

The recent additions by teams within their division will inspire Buffalo to make a splash of their own.

Ralph Wilson has shown a willingness to spend money to create a winning product. The Bills would be willing to trade anyone on their current roster to land Big Ben.

The Raiders have a good running game, they have a good receiving corps, all they need is a quarterback.

With Brandon Marshall leaving the Broncos, the Raiders could be in a position to compete for the division, but only if they land Big Ben.

In losing Julius Peppers, the Panthers lost the face of their franchise. Big Ben would put them back on the map and back in the national spotlight.

When considering Pete Carroll-type quarterbacks, Ben Roethlisberger doesn't exactly come to mind.

That said, given the opportunity, Ben is a major upgrade from Charlie Whitehurst.

If Pete Carroll wants to make an immediate impact in Seattle, he'll need more security at quarterback.

The Seahawks have the luxury of two first round picks. They could use one to address their need for quarterback protection, with the other, they could land someone worthy of protecting.
