5 Wrestlers "I" Wanted To See Wrestle Shawn Michaels!

Shawn Michaels will go down in wrestling history as one of the greatest wrestling performers of all time! He has faced some of the greatest in the business, but there are a few that he never had the chance to wrestle. Either he was injured or that person wasn't in the company at the time. Whatever the reason may be, it got me to thinking about how great a match would have been between Shawn Michaels and the five men on this list.
Notice that the word "I" is in quotes because this is MY list. I'm sure people may have a different opinion and that's great, but these are the men and matches I would have loved to see. Enjoy the slideshow.
5.Ric Flair!
I know some will say, "Shawn Michaels wrestled Ric Flair at Wrestlemania!" NO!!! That was not Ric Flair! That was a man who was a mere shell of himself and should have retired years ago.
The Ric Flair I wanted to see face Shawn MIchaels was the kiss stealing, wheeling dealing, jet flying, limousine riding, son of a gun! The Nature Boy Ric Flair! The man who first surpassed the great Harley Race's seven-time World title reigns with eight and later won another eight to make it 16 times World champion!
Now that Ric Flair would have given Shawn Michaels a five star match. And whether you like it, or don't like it; learn to love it because it would have been the best thing going today! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!
4.The Rock!
The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment vs The ShowStopper! That would have been a great moniker to see at Wrestlemania of two of the biggest stars in wrestling history.
The Rock a.k.a Dwyane Johnson was one of the best on the mic in the business and just to see them cut a promo with or against each other would have been worth the price of admission alone.
Michaels had the speed, while The Rock had the power! And who wouldn't want to see a Peoples Elbow on The Heartbreak Kid? Or The Rock "oversell" Sweet Chin Music, the way he would sell The Stunner? Again, wrestling gold "if you smell what The Rock is cooking!"
3.Sting!
Icon vs. Icon! These two men should have wrestled at least once in their respective careers. Sting is,arguably, the most well known wrestler in the world who never competed in the WWE! His matches against Ric Flair and The Great Muta are among some of the best in wrestling history.
Sting, like Michaels, is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time and a match between them would have been an instant classic! They have been on the same Christian television program together. Both men being born-again Christians, but a match between them could have been heavenly to watch!
2.Randy Savage!
OOOOOOOOOOOO YEAH!!!! I was thinking, thinking, thinking how great it would have been to see these two men compete in a match. Oddly enough, I found a match on youtube of Savage vs. Michaels in Germany after Savage won the WWE championship from Ric Flair at Wrestlemania!
This was when Michaels had Sensational Sherri as his manager and was still developing the character of The Heartbreak Kid. The match was still very good, but I feel a match between a prime Savage and a more experienced Michaels, would have torn the roof off of any venue at the time.
Still, Savage is on my list because he could cut a promo and his high risk moves against Michaels, would have been a sight to see and a match for the ages! Dig It!
1.Ricky Steamboat!
The man in this slide is often forgotten too many times when the term, "Greatest Wrestler Of All Time" is used. Ricky Steamboat has influenced many superstars in wrestling, including Mr. Wrestlemania himself and has produced many memorable moments in wrestling.
Imagine, if you would, a match between The Dragon and The Heartbreak Kid. Can you say five star match? I knew that you could! Steamboat and Savage was able to steal the show from Hogan and Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania.
Steamboat and Flair have put on wrestling clinics throughout their careers, one of which garnered five stars. So, if Steamboat could do those things, with those great wrestlers, would there be any doubt that he and Michaels would have made wrestling history? Not to me. Ricky Steamboat and Shawn Michaels would have been a dream come true to me and many fans of wrestling around the world!
