Lost amid all of the ruckus around Big Ben and the exile of Santonio Holmes is the fact that this could be the best thing that ever happened to Limas Sweed. With Sweed we only had issues with his on field behavior. However, with the signing of Randel El and Arnaz Battle, it seemed that there was no room for the former 2nd round pick on the Steelers.

Now with Holmes out of the picture and the two free agent receivers both being older, Sweed could very well have a new lease on Steeler life.  Mike Wallace is going to be looked upon to step into Holmes role. But of the rest of the bunch, Sweed has the physical talent, size and speed to play a big role on this team.

It is up to Limas to come into camp and show the Steelers that he is the man and player they thought he was when they were so happy to grab him in the 2nd round. Wouldn't it be a silver lining in this whole nightmare, if as a result of this mess, Sweed finds himself and the Steelers find another receiving star.
