Chicago Cubs Home Opener
Despite the first week of the season, Monday is a great day to be a Cubs fan–it’s the club’s 95th home opener!
Hasn’t been pretty the last six years, Cubs are just 2-4 in the home lid-lifters. But all-time they’re still 9-games above .500 at 51-42-1.
The truly good news is Ryan Dempster toeing the rubber against Milwaukee. In 17 starts vs. the Brew Crew he’s 11-3 with a sparkling 2.69 ERA.
Three of those win came last year…3-1 in four starts…3.67 ERA…and 28 strikeouts.
Pitching aside, the Brewers can rake. And while all eyes will be on Dempster…this Cubs lineup better score some runs!
I’m taking the game in from the Skybox on Sheffield tomorrow. Will post some pictures from Monday’s festivities as well!
