Billy Packer: Good Bye from CBS

Mike DiMauroSenior Writer IJuly 14, 2008

Since 1975, there has been a familiar face broadcasting the Final Four. In 2009, that familiar face will not be there.

For seven seasons on NBC and 27 on CBS, Billy Packer has been the lead color anaylist for the Final Four coverage. Today, CBS announced that they let go Billy Packer.

Clark Kellogg will replace Packer starting in the 2008 season and Kellogg will be along side Jim Nantz for the 2009 Final Four. Greg Anthony might replace Kellogg in the studio.

Packer, not only did the Final Four for NBC and CBS, but he also did Raycom's coverage of the ACC until the end of the 2008 season.
