Gilmour a Hall-of-Famer?

Matt BowlerCorrespondent IJuly 14, 2008

I would like to know what the Hockey Hall of Fame selection committee is smoking?!

At the end of last month the Hall decided not to fill 4 extra spots available because of the 04-05 lockout.

Gilmour was thought to have a chance at making it with his 1,414 career regular season points.  After all Igor Larionov made the cut with 644 career NHL point, less than half of Gilmour.  If you look at what Gilmour did for just Toronto alone, he would be deemed one of the greatest Leaf captains!

In the 1993-94 season many people regarded Gilmour as the best hockey player in the world.  Gilmour scored a point a game for 20 NHL seasons.  Could this be said of Larionov or Glen Anderson who were voted into the Hall?

Gilmour is not the only star that has been shut out of the Hall.  It's time that someone wakes up the Hall of Fame Committee and let Dougy in!

Where can I comment?
