Only 5 games into the regular season, and we've seen stellar performances from 4 of the 5 Cardinals starting pitchers.  General Manager John Mozeliak has done a great job putting together this years starting rotation.  We already knew that Carpenter and Wainright are the best one two punch in baseball, and the Cardinals were hoping to strike gold with the signing of Brad Penny and the second year south paw pitcher Jaime Garcia.

The Cardinals solidified their lineup this offseason with the signing of OF Matt Holliday, and so far this season we've seen what he is capable of doing.  The biggest question coming into this season though was, "Will the Cardinals have a dominant pitching rotation?"  The answer so far is YES!

As the season progresses, we will see how well this rotation meshes together.  I won't be surprised if the Cardinals (If Healthy) have two pitchers with 17+ wins, two with 13+ wins, and maybe Garcia will do good enough to get above that plateau.  The Cardinals bullpen still remains in question though with the development of Jason Motte, Closer Ryan Franklin and Kyle McClellan.

If the bullpen and starting rotation live up to their name as an "Unstoppable Machine," you can probably plan on seeing this team in the world series this coming October.
