I usually only do one slideshow a week for the Weekly Top Ten List, but this is a rather important issue that fans need to understand and hear.

For a while now, I have seen comments posted on variety of websites about how the WWE Divas are not really good as a whole, in the components of wrestling.

Many fans in the past, have made claims about the WWE Divas just being mere eye candy.

Others believe that most of the current WWE Divas could not wrestle their way out of a paper bag if they had former champions like Mae Young, Madusa, and Jazz as backup.

The real question is, are the fans right about their claims? If you looked at the wrestling background of the WWE Divas, would you be able to make the same conclusions?

Saying that let the trivia slide begin. No cheating, folks.

WWE Diva Trivia Question 1

Brn_trivia_display_image

This is a simple one.

This WWE Diva started her career by training with some of the best technical wrestlers to ever hit the ring.

She took that training and began her pro wrestling career by competing in Stampede Wrestling and a branch of the NWA in her home country.

In Stampede Wrestling she is a two time Women's Champion as well as Women's Wrestler of the Year in 2005 for the company.

She began her WWE career as a manager for Victoria and became the first woman to compete for the WWE Divas belt with Michelle McCool.

Which Diva is it?

Answer: Natalya Neidhart

This was simple and one to get the ball rolling.

Natalya is an up and coming Diva who could dominate the division if given the opportunity to do so.

It gets a little harder, but if you follow other promotions you should get the next couple of ones right.

WWE Diva Trivia Question 2

Brn_trivia_display_image

This one is a little tougher.

This former Women's champion started her career in wrestling with USA Wrestling. She also won a Amateur wrestling contest at New York State Fair Tournement in 1999.

She made her WWE debut as an ally to Trish Stratus, when Trish was feuding with Mickie James.

She is also considered one of the most dominant women's champions in OVW history.

Which Diva is it?

Answer: Beth Phoenix

If you did not get this one right, then I suggest you quit now.

Beth Phoenix is a two-time OVW Women's Champion and feuded with the likes of ODB, Lea, and Mickie James before moving up to the WWE roster.

Phoenix is also has a great Amateur wrestling background winning the New York State Fair contest as well as being the North East Amateur Wrestling Women's Champion.

Next question is a little harder.

WWE Diva Trivia Question 3

Brn_trivia_display_image

This stunning beauty has won the top Women's title in four different promotions. In 2008 she was ranked as third best female wrestler by PWI.

She has wrestled for Apocalypse Wrestling Federation and Border City Wrestling.

On the WWE side of things she was invited in by former Diva Molly Holly and has competed against a variety of Divas from Trish Stratus to Melina.

Think Matrix videos like effects.

Which Diva is it?

Answer: Gail Kim

Before beginning her WWE career, videos displaying Gail Kim matrix like moves aired on RAW. She debut with a Matrix like gimmick and outfit and took home the Women's Championship in her first televised event.

Gail Kim is one of the most underrated women wrestlers in the WWE. She helped establish a strong Women's Division in the early part of the 2000s with Trish Stratus, Lita, Molly Holly, and Victoria.

She later went to TNA and did the same thing with Awesome Kong and established the Knockouts Division as a one of the main attractions to the company.

On to the next one.

WWE Diva Trivia Question 4

Brn_trivia_display_image

This young talent may indeed be the future of the WWE Women's Division. She has already earned her stripes by competing in several different promotions including Shimmer, OVW, and now WWE.

She has wrestled all across the world from France to Canada and right here in America.

It is only a matter of time before she becomes the face of the WWE Divas.

Which Diva is it?

Answer: From The SES, Serena Deeb

180px-serena-deeb_display_image

It is only a matter of time before she controls the WWE Women's Division. She is considered by many to be one of the greatest Women's Champions in OVW history.

She has been successful wherever she has been, and I can see her easily being one of the best Women's Champion in recent WWE history, once given the chance to do so. She is that damn good.

If the WWE was smart they would have her start by feuding with Gail Kim for the Women's title. The perfect clash of styles.

It gets harder from here.

WWE Diva Trivia Question 5

Brn_trivia_display_image

Like Serena Deeb and Gail Kim, this young lady has competed in many different promotions.

She started out in Frontier Wrestling Alliance and has made appearances in OVW and many international circuits.

In OVW she feuded with Beth Phoenix and others for 2 years for the OVW Women's title.

She is also a former Trans-Atlantic Wrestling Women's Champion.

Which Diva is it?

Answer: Katie Lea Burchill

Many of you may have gotten this one wrong.

She won her first OVW title by beating Serena Deeb for the belt. She went on to have the longest title reign (212 days) for that company Women's division until Melody broke her record in June 2009.

She another star to watch out for. If she is used in the right way she could be a great future champion.

Some of you may get the next one right, others may miss the boat.

WWE Diva Trivia Question 6

Brn_trivia_display_image

This Diva started her career by attending a wrestling school in Washington, D.C.

She then competed as a manager for Tommy Dreamer in KYDA Pro Wrestling. She ended up managing him to the World Heavyweight Title in the company.

Before heading into the WWE she made stops by ROH and OVW. She started feuding with Shelly Martinez and Jillian Hall and was close to winning the OVW Television Title.

Which Diva is it?

Answer: Mickie James

Mickie-james-diva-catcheuse_display_image

Die hard women wrestling fans may have gotten this right from the beginning when I mentioned KYDA.

Mickie James could be considered one of the all-time great wrestlers to come out of the WWE training grounds and OVW.

Her WWE career started off quickly by winning the Women's Championship at Wrestlemania vs. Trish Stratus in what turned out to be one of the best feuds for a title the WWE Women's Division seen in awhile.

Get ready for the last question.

WWE Diva Trivia Question 7

Brn_trivia_display_image

This WWE Diva often gets lumped in with the eye candy girls of the WWE, but she does has some wrestling experience.

In OVW she became a Women's Champion before giving the title up to Beth Phoenix.

She also feuded with the like of Shelly Martinez and ODB in OVW and Natalya and Miss Angela in FCW.

Which Diva is it?

Answer: Alicia Fox

13332_ovw102113yw2_122_467lo_display_image

Yep that's right. In two years she has competed against some of the best women wrestlers in OVW, TNA, FCW, and WWE.

While she may not have all the skills of a Mickie James or Katie Lea Burchill; she has competed and battled along side with them and thrived in training grounds in Ohio and Florida. That is worthy of some respect.

A Trivia Review

Wweb11_display_image

As you can see, some WWE Divas have all the talent, experience, and wrestling ability needed to get over with the fans. The problem is not that the WWE Divas "can't wrestle," it is all about how they are used.

You add these seven women on the slide with Maryse, Melina, Eve, Michelle McCool, Layla, and Kelly Kelly; who have all improved in their overall wrestling ability and mic work and you have the foundation of a nice division.

When you compare this line up to an TNA Knockout Division that is without Awesome Kong, the WWE Divas match up pretty well in all aspects and in most areas are better.

If the WWE decides to let their wrestlers display all of their true talent, then we could see a nice era in Women's wrestling in the WWE., with 5 to 7 women who could compete for the Women's and Diva titles at the same time.

The fate of the division lies in the company's hands. It is up to them whether these women find success.
