Justin Boren Long Gone from Michigan, but Detroit Free Press Can't Let It Go
The transfer of Justin Boren to Ohio State is an old story for the Michigan football program.
In fact, do any Michigan fans really care about this now?
This story, however, still has a great deal of relevance according to the Detroit Free Press, who ran the story on April 7, 2010.
In the article, it sounded as if Boren has been able to move on with his decision to transfer back to Columbus, and that is fine.
On the other hand, the Detroit Free Press has not been able to move on, as evidenced by covering and printing such an article three years later, which once again discussed the issues behind Boren's transfer.
Yes, once again Michigan fans have learned that Boren left because of the "erosion of family values."
The truth is, however, Michigan fans do not care about Justin Boren and his transfer at this point.
Likewise, Michigan fans certainly do not care about the progression of the Ohio State offensive line this spring, which was also covered in this article.
This article is just another negative shot at Rich Rodriguez and the University of Michigan by the Detroit Free Press.
It also shows that this newspaper continues to work very hard to aid in the dismissal of Rodriguez and his staff.
As the 2010 season approaches, one can only wonder how the Detroit Free Press will cover the Wolverines if they have a winning season.
If the Wolverines do have a winning season, it will not matter to this newspaper, as the headlines from August through November will focus upon the impending NCAA sanctions.
