Will The Realistic Arsenal Fans Please Stand Up?

Within the first 20 mins of playing Barcelona I realized that we were playing a team that is so much better than ours.

The depressing thing is that we play the exact same style of footie, and they showed us how its done.

The thing that frustrated me the most was the midfield. Oh my god were we non- existent in that department. Diaby, sorry, you are never going to be a good enough footballer to play at the top level that is going to win honors. If we have players like Diaby and Denilson in the team on a regular basis, we are never going to win the premiership or the European cup.

I am being a complete realist. If you asked any non-Arsenal fan that has a good knowledge of football, they would tell you the same thing.

If we do win the premier league, I will eat my words. But I do think that this season the premiership has been its weakest in a good few years. The champions league is a perfect example

   

— no English team has made it to the semis this year. I cannot remember the last time that has happened.

Regardless of whether we win the league or not, I do think that we need a whole revamp of the team. We need to get rid of those who are consistently injured and those who aren't simply good enough to put on the jersey.

I, like most Arsenal fans, want to see us win trophies. On the spending side of things, people keep reminding me of how good our balance sheet is and how much profit we are making.

I don't care, yeah its good, but if its a choice between making a few pounds and winning the league, I'll take the league thanks. I know its good for a club to make money, but are the banks going to call in the club debts if we are one of the biggest sporting clubs in the world?

I do not think they will. Why would they? They give out huge loans, with huge interest rates and as long as we're winning and showing some sign of profit they're noting going come calling the repo men.

Squad wise, we need to invest. I'm sorry but a lot of players have to leave. Denilson (I don't care about stats, I can see with my own eyes that he's useless), Diaby (same as Denilson, one good game every 5 games) Slivestre (enough said), Alumina (simply a not good enough, Birmingham?), Campbell (same of Silvestre), Eboue(never does anything), maybe Rosicky (injures may have ruined this man, what a shame).

These players in my eyes definitely need to get a new job somewhere else. The rest of the squad I would keep. Most of them have great potential and perform constantly well. I have no ideas on who should come in, but the boss is probably buying some 15 year old African kid as i speak.

What I would like to see is Nasri and Fab in midfield together. It works for Barca with Inesta and Xavi, so why not us. They keep the ball so well it basically kills the other teams that play them. Nasri plays better in the center than on the flanks and I think he lacks a little pace for those positions too. Song has been great, and I think along with Fab and Tommy V he has been one of players of the season for us.

Anyways, the point is that I think that I'm being honest and realistic with my analysis and I want you guys to vent your opinions based on what you see. Don't look at the players with a Arsenal jersey on, and you might come to realize that a lot of these players aren't good enough to play for our club.
