Unfortunately, the defensive line may have just taken another hit. DT Johnny Jolly was arrested July 8 in Houston for possession of at least 200 grams of codeine. He's scheduled to appear in court on July 22 to face possible felony drug possession charges.
According to the Houston Chronicle:
Late Saturday, a Packers official provided a statement to the Houston Chronicle that read: "The Packers are aware of the report involving Johnny Jolly. This is a legal matter and we still are in the process of gathering information. We have no further comment at this time.''
The spokeswoman declined to elaborate on possible disciplinary action for Jolly, if any.
Jolly, a former Texas A&M star, was drafted by the Packers in 2006. Recently, he, along with A.J. Hawk and Brandon Jackson, was listed as among the the NFL's top 30 players to "break out" for the 2008 season (h/t: JSonline). Hopefully they didn't mean "break out" of jail.
