"What I think the Chiefs will do in the Draft"
Here is a slideshow on what i personally think the chiefs should do with all there draft picks. The Chiefs have some many options, but i think with a few draft picks taht are going to start, and some decent back ups, the Chiefs can be a centender in the AFC West in 2010. I believe the Chiefs can have a winning season, depending on how they draft.
I'm not considering the Chiefs trading down in this, even though i think it would be a smart thing to do in some cases. I wouldn't mind seeing the chiefs trade down in the first round and i would like to see them grabbing a 3rd rounder, but i'm just dealing with what we have got
I might give a couple options on certain picks, Simply in case if the player is taken, and the second option i give could be taken too, but this is jsut a Mock Draft and nobody knows how it is going to turn out until April 22-24. Gosh am i looking forward to it! Well here is my Slide Show. Tell me what you think.
1st Round(#5)- Eric Berry,S, Second Option- Russell Okung, OT
I think Chiefs need a big defensive player other then a linemen. Chiefs had a bad secondary, and i think Berry can help and be a leader. Another thought is go Russell Okung, which wouldn't be bad but OT is deep this year.
2nd Round(#36)- Golden Tate, WR, Second Option- Sergio Kindle, DE
Golden Tate is a great slot reciver. Chiefs might want to reunite him and Weis. It would give Cassel that much more help and maybe make defenses think again about who the ball is going to go to, Srrgio Kindle would be my second choice
2nd Round(#50)- Brandon Spikes, ILB, Second Option- Arthur Jones, NT
Brandon Spikes is a monster in the middle, and i think he is a steal this late. Just because he ran a slow 40, Speed isn't everything. i know it helps, but in a 3-4 D, he can help clog up the middle, and he would be a steal, Second option is to go Arthur Jones from Syracuse, i think he falls because of his injury either option helps!
3rd Round(#68)- Daryl Washington OLB, Second Option- Jordan Shipley,WR
Washington can help out on the outside. Chiefs need help out there, and for that matter many other places. I think the second option is to grab Jordan Shipley we didn't pick up Tate. Shipley can be a great Slot
4th Round(#102)- Tony Moeaki, TE
Some say Cottam can fix this, but i think Moeaki is a steal. PLayed for Iowa, he had his Injuries but on the field he could block, and had soft hands. If he stays healthy i would say we have a new Tony in town.
5th Round(#136)- Ben Tate, RB
I know we got Thomas Jones, but we need another RB in case one of them gets hurt. I dont agree with the other back-ups we have, i dont think they are really capable of keeping us in games, and i do belive the chiefs have a chance to be a winning team
5th Round(#142)-Austin English, DE/OLB
no i dont think he can come in a start, I do think he can give a couple player a run for there money though, One things the Chiefs really lack are decent back-ups, I dont really see any stand out players here, but one think i do know about the draft you dont have to be a stand out player in College, its just what you do in the pros
5th Round(#144)- Eric Olsen, C
I think we need some more depth on the line, and again it is reuniting Weis and a Notre Dame player.
