WrestleMania 26 is done.
Now that I know WrestleMania 27 is in Atlanta, I'd better get my plane tickets.
Anyway, this year's card looked very promising, but failed to really stand out, except for Shawn's retirement. I am hoping that the WWE improves next year's Mania.
P.S. I'm sorry. Of all the WrestleMania logos, this one had to look like a Super Bowl logo. Just Sayin'.
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Let me be the first to say that next year's MITB match should go back to having eight people.
It would be The Miz vs. Benjamin vs. Kingston vs. Ziggler vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Kozlov vs. Bourne vs. Mysterio.
MITB has always been a WrestleMania tradition that I look forward to, and this should be a blast.
Intercontinental Championship Match
Drew McIntyre vs. Christian.
Honestly, I can't picture McIntyre holding the IC title for so long. But if he does, then Christian would be a worthy opponent to "The Chosen One", and putting a title on the line would make things interesting.
Unified Women's Championship Lumberjill Match
The be-all-end-all for divas everywhere.
Maryse and Beth Phoenix: Two fighting forces of the divas division wrestling for a title so prestigious (laughs loudly), the ring is surrounded by divas from the past, present, and 2010 diva search. The prize everyone is jockeying for, a WrestleMania moment.
It's all on the line on April 3, 2011.
Unified Tag Team Championship Match
After The Miz gets seriously injured and has to relinquish his half of the Tag Team Titles, Big Show decides to do the same thing Jericho did: look for a new partner.
After a few weeks he announces that his new partner is none other than Batista. The Hart Dynasty wins a No. 1 contenders match for WrestleMania.
Street Fight
At the Bragging Rights PPV, Finlay, on Team Smackdown, hits Matt Hardy, on team RAW, with a shillelagh so hard that he fractures his skull and forces him to stay out for a while.
A month prior to WrestleMania, Hardy returns to challenge Finlay to a street fight.
At first Finlay declines the offer, but after some physical persuasion, Finlay accepts, promising Hardy that after WrestleMania, he won't be seen again.
Hall of Fame Inductees
THE NIGHT BEFORE WRESTLEMANIA
The Heartbreak Kid,
The Brahma Bull,
The Ultimate Warrior,
and more.
Do the math.
Hall of Fame class of 2011.
WWE Championship: Edge vs. Randy Orton
I can't think of a storyline for this one. The match would just be awesome. If I can think of a storyline on the spot, it would be that Rated-RKO reunites to win the unified tag team titles.
But after Orton wins the WWE title, Edge starts showing signs of jealousy. He then makes a plan: he'll lose the tag titles on purpose so he can focus on the WWE title.
Not so deep, but like I said, the match would just be incredible.
Undertaker vs. John Cena
Alright, this is it. For all you people who want Cena to turn heel, this could very well do it.
Think about it.
Let's say Cena has been trying and failing for three months to recapture championship gold. Now it's the Royal Rumble, Cena's chance to go to WrestleMania, but he winds up being eliminated. By who? Yep, Undertaker.
After the elimination, he runs back into the ring and eliminates Undertaker out of frustration. The following night on RAW, Cena gets a title match, only to have Undertaker interrupt.
Then on Smackdown, Cena brings a coffin to the ring and dares Undertaker to come out and fight him. A brawl carries out and Cena comes out on top.
Then he stuffs Undertaker into the coffin and burns it. At the Elimination Chamber Cena and Orton are the last two left. The familiar gong is heard. The room is pitch black, Cena is laid out and Orton goes for the win.
Undertaker throws out the challenge, Cena accepts and their Road to WrestleMania will be filled with brawls, heel turns, and surprises.
World Heavyweight Championship: Punk vs. HHH vs. Y2J
If good ol' JR was still here, he'd probably say something like "CM Punk is going to WrestleMania."
That is after Punk wins the Royal Rumble match. Punk is like a shark, hunting for the drunk and wasted. What better way to turn an entire arena straight edge than by winning the championship at WrestleMania.
Meanwhile, Jericho and Triple H are feuding over the championship. At Elimination Chamber, Chis Jericho is at the top of a pod, then HHH runs up the same pod and puts Jericho in a pedigree position and jumps.
Jericho pushes HHH's legs and they both fall face first unable to continue the match. The Smackdown after the title is vacated, Jericho and HHH argue for it's possession. Then Punk comes out.
"What a perfect opportunity to show these people out here two prime examples of men who succumbed to drugs and alcohol. The WWE cannot be represented by such abusers, so once again, I will be your savior."
With this, the match is made.
Conclusion
Another year, another WrestleMania.
Please, tell me what you think in the comments below.
Time to saddle up, 'cause next year, Georgia, here we come.
