Lions Acquire OG Rob Sims

The Detroit Lions have just traded their 5th round pick in this year's NFL draft to the Seahawks for offensive guard Rob Sims (says reports by Adam Schefter). Mayhew and Co. hope that this move will solidify our need at left guard.

I think this is a great move for the Lions as a franchise.  It will stabilize the left guard position and hopefully help Backus improve his game.  This will give us an offensive line of Backus at LT, Sims at LG, Raiola at C, Peterman at RG, and Goz at RT.

Sims, started 14 games for the Seahawks last year and was the fourth best guard in the NFL, based on QB pressures and hits.  He has been the Seahawks starting left guard for the past two seasons. The wanted to move him because he does not fit the zone blocking scheme.
