McNabb Trade to Deadskins Means Gathier to Raiders Is a Certainty

Austin SwaimContributor IApril 4, 2010

The only thing holding the Gathier to Raiders deal is they wanted McNabb. With McNabb going to Washington, Gathier remains in Baltimore with 2nd round tender. The deal should be done within days, as Oakland will gladly pay a proven Gathier the money they would pay Bruce Campbell. With Gathier a Raider, our biggest needs go back to MLB and DT.

So what would we do in the draft? The Lions would move back for Hiram Eugene, Kirk Morrison and #8 overall for #2 and #66 Overall. That would obviously result in Ndamukong Suh being the #2 pick. But, I think then we address MLB in Round 3 at #66 with Jamar Chaney, a great MLB my buddy Ramone Brown knows a ton about. (I'm going to use this as an apology to Ramone for being stupid about the whole McNabb thing). Anyway, he is a physical freak who is ready to be a starting MLB.  Then we take Nnamdi's complement in Patrick Robinson, corner from Florida State. In Round 4, we take either Marshall Newhouse or Brandon Carter, and in Round 5 we take the big guy John Skelton of Fordham. Gathier, Suh, Chaney, Robinson, and Carter will lead us to the playoffs, not a 30 year old QB.
