Good Things Come to Those Who Wait?

Ok one thing before I start this article. Getty Images needs to take better pictures.
Now we can move on to the two free agents we have signed so far this year. In the Vikings infinte wisdom and knowledge, we have all come to know the names Rhys Lloyd and Mike Montgomery. Whoopee.
Why couldn't we have waited to sign people to sign some of our bigger needs. I mean was released yesterday and would be a definite step up over Madieu Williams. Kendall Simmons, Shawn Andrews, Chester Pitts or even Montrae Holland are all still available. We could have two of our most important needs full and be able to focus on other issues in the draft.
The problems that i have with our two signings, is that both could have been filled with either a late round pick or in the case of Rhys Lloyd, an undrafted free agent.
Maybe it's just me but it seems like that Minnesota is throwing away the limited number of free agents we can sign.
Maybe Lloyd will become the next Morten Anderson and maybe Montgomery will be the next Reggie White, I don't think so but it could happen. I just think we could have had more proven players at a higher position of need. Maybe one of the other Vikings fans can tell me what is going on with these free agents.
