Kid's Column: Introduction To The Chicago Red Stars Season

Marivi Howell-ArzaCorrespondent IAugust 13, 2016

The Chicago Red Stars are the official women’s soccer team for Chicago. I had season tickets last year and I have them for this year, too. I even met Natalie Spilger, Kate Markgraf, Megan Rapinoe, and Ella Masar, who signed my arm and asked me to sign hers. As an introduction of coverage of the games, I am going to talk about my experiences.

Going to a game is always an unpredictable experience. Sometimes they play a great game and win, but sometimes they play a great game and lose. They don’t have very good offense, but they have pretty good defense. Of course, I think that’s thanks to one my favorite players, Natalie Spilger.

Most of the time, they end up tying or even losing. But sometimes, offense comes around and they win BIG time. And when they do, it’s usually because of some of my other favorite players, Cristiane and Megan Rapinoe.

Order your popcorn, people, because it’s very suspenseful. I will cover the games once they start. And, make sure you’re wearing socks, because they will be knocked off!
