Wayne Rooney could return for Manchester United in three weeks, ready for the Premier League derby against Manchester City.
Sir Alex Ferguson said Rooney would e able to recover in up to "two to three weeks" from ankle ligament damage he sustained earlier in the week.
The 'best-case scenario' is that he could be involved in United's last four league games and the Champions League semi-finals .. and final.
"The nation can stop praying," said Sir Alex, after the media went crazy about Wayne missing the World Cup.
The striker is definately going to miss, at least, the next three games including Saturday's very important match against title rivals Chelsea. United who are already 2-1 down from the firsh leg, face Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final next Week.
Ferguson admitted he was over the moon to hear that Rooney had suffered "no bone damage or serious ligament damage" after twisting his ankle after Bayern's Mario Gomez had stepped on his foot.
So the good news is ....
For Manchester United fans ... he will be back by the end of the season to score more goals and help United win the title.
For England fans ... he will be ready to play Mexico at Wembley just before being England's hero and bringing back the World Cup from South Africa.
