Cubs prove to be anything but "Harden"ary.

For most Cub fans, July 8 is a time of blind optimism.

"There's a chance we can climb back into the race....right!?"

But there's something different this season. Instead of hoping to get back in the hunt, the Cubs are hoping to maintain the best record in the Senior Circuit. That's right, Cubs fans, going into the All Star Break, we have the best record in the National League.

Jim Hendry is rolling the dice with Harden, whose impressive debut against San Francisco is exactly what Cub Nation envisioned: plenty of strikeouts, minimal walks, and a chance for the team to win.

Where do we go from here? The light is beginning to be visible. There are traps and landmines in the way, like those pesky Brewers and resilient Cardinals. But with 100 years of scars and lessons learned on our side, there's no better time to reach baseball immortality than now.
