The Wisconsin Badgers had a good season this year. The Big Red proved everyone wrong by getting into the top of the Big 10, and moved and stayed in the top 25 polls for most of the year. Towards the end, we started to falter, but it was still a great season regardless. In the NCAA Tourny the Badgers babely took down Wofford, and then fell to Cornell, who seemingly didnt miss against Wisconsin. The Badgers are losing two key starters in guards Trevon Hughes, and Jason Bohannon. As we look forward to next year, keep these thoughts in mind!
Jordan Taylor(Junior) and Rob Wilson(Junior)
With Taylor returning the Badgers have a great guard and an even better ball handler. He will have to have a good season with a great assist-to-turnover ratio.
Rob Wilson just started being reliable this season, and will need to prove himself early if the Badgers want to make a deep run come March.
Jon Leuer(Senior) Ryan Evans(Sophmore) Keaton Nankivil(Senior)
Leuer will have to be our dominant force all year for us to contend in the Big 10, he will be expected to be a solid double-double man for the Badgers and will hopefully continue to keep his stroke as well as improving his footwork around the rim.
Ryan Evans showed spurts of greatness this season, and could very possibly be a major contributor. He is like Wilson and we will need solid minutes and production from him to succeed.
Nankivil will be our X-factor. If he can keep hitting the 3 more regularaly that adds another dimension to our offense. We will need him to step it up in the post, though, and i think he will put in a great offseason to do so.
Tim Jarmusz Mike Bruesewitz will have to step up for us to have a chance to contend in the Big 10, as well as others. More to come....
The Badgers will get 20+wins, and go 10-6 in the Big 10. With a semifinal bow out in the Big 10 Tourny, the Badgers will come alive in march getting to the sweet 16 and make a close game against a much better team, and closely lose to finish the season with the future looking bright. more to come....
