The Chicago Cubs have announced that on September 7th they will have a ceremony for Billy Williams and unveil a statue of him outside Wrigley. The statue will be the 3rd at Wrigley Field, which includes Hall of Famer Ernie Banks and beloved sportscaster Harry Caray.
Williams, whose number 26 is one of 6 retired by the Cubs, spent 16 years with the club hitting .296 with 392 home runs. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1987.
His statue, may be moved though, because of pending construction of the triangle building. At that point they may though, have a shrine of Cub legends and make statues for each.
