The 2010 Big 10 Champion

Michael CooperContributor IMarch 31, 2010

The Iowa Hawkeyes will be the surprise team of the Big 10 for the 2010 college football season. The Hawkeyes finished 11-2 last season and were undefeated when Ricky Stanzi played for the entire game. They gutted out thrilling wins against Northern Iowa, Arkansas State, Michigan, and Michigan State. Good teams find ways to win games and the Hawkeyes did just that in 2009. Their running game is lead by Adam Robinson and Brandon Wegher who were both freshmen last year that had 13 total tds. Defensively the Hawkeyes finished 10th in the nation for total defense, 8th in scoring defense, and 4th in pass defense. They're defensive line of Iowa is one of the best in the nation. Their 2010 schedule works out nicely for Iowa with home games against Michigan State, and Ohio State. A dicey game for Iowa is the a trip to Arizona on 9/18 but the defense of Iowa should help them win. Predicted record ( if they stay healthy) - 12-0.
