Tye Hill To Sign With Tennessee Titans Or Minnesota Vikings Today
March 30, 2010
Veteran cornerback Tye Hill visited the Tennessee Titans last week, and is currently concluding a visit with the Minnesota Vikings. Hill is expected to announce today whether he will play for the Titans or Vikings next season.
Hill was selected 15th overall by the St. Louis Rams in the 2006 draft, and during his time with the Rams largely underperformed. Hill only managed to start 21 games in his three seasons as a Ram, and tallied a meager four interceptions.
Still only 27 years old, Hill has the potential to reestablish himself with either the Vikings or Titans, but will at least provide a veteran presence to either team. If the former first round pick signs with the Titans, Hill will be in the mix to start opposite Cortland Finnegan.
Cornerback is a position of need for the Titans after the departure of Nick Harper, and is a job which will likely be awarded to either Ryan Mouton, Jason McCourty, a potential draft pick or future free agent.
