AP is reporting former UCLA coach Steve Lavin will interview with St. John's. The person spoke to AP on condition Monday because there was no official announcement. St. John's athletic director Chris Monasch was unavailable for comment. Lavin has been an ESPN has been an espn analyst since UCLA fired him in 2003. I believed St. John's should hired him and stop picking coaches who stay at there colleges. Kevin Willard would have been a good choice for St. John's but he headed for Seton Hall. Lavin was 145-78 in seven seasons coaching the Bruins, winning at least 21 games and reaching the NCAA Tournament six times. He reached the Elite Eight once and the Sweet 16 four times. Lavin is a winner on and off the court. St. John needs new life and Steve Lavin is it. Wake up Johnnies!
