Pakistan Cricket: Different Sides Equal Different Results

cameron ninskiContributor IJuly 11, 2008

In order to compete with the world's best side, Pakistan should introduce separate teams for each form of cricket. This will not only help their players to refrainfrom injuries, but also will be beneficial for the team's sake.

By separate teams for each form—Tests, ODI, and T20—I do not mean that all 11 players should be different. The composition of the team should be according to the demands of that version of game.

Apart from separate teams, I am also in favour of separate captains, which I know is an arguable debate. Following is my Pakistan team in Tests, ODI's, and T20 which, in my opinion, can do quite well.

Salman Butt  Khalid Latif Younis Khan (captain)   Asim Kamal Kamran Akmal Sohail Tanvir/Saeed Ajmal (if playing in subcontinent) Umar Gul Asif/Shoiab(whoever is available as both have fitness concerns) D.Kaneria  ODI's  Salman Butt Nasir Jamshed/Khurram Manzoor Younis Hhan M.Yousaf Misbah ul Haq (captain) Shoaib Malik/Fawad alam (back-up) Sarfraz Ahmed Sohail Tanvir Abdur Rauf/Asif/Shoaib (doubt about Asif and Shoiab's fitness) Umar Gul Saeed Ajmal  T20   Shahid Afridi Salman Butt Younis Khan Misbah ul Huq Shoaib Malik (captain) Fawad Alam Kamran akmal Kamran Hussain/Mansoor Amjad (all-rounders) Sohail Tanvir Umar Gul M.Asif/Abdur Rauf/Sohail Khan
