According to multiple reports, East Carolina will hire former Auburn Tigers coach Jeff Lebo as their new men's basketball coach.
A little over a week ago, I reported that Lebo was let go by Auburn after his fourth losing season with the team, just days after a loss to Florida in the SEC tournament.
He was brought into Auburn in order to help rebuild the Tigers' program but was unsuccessful, going 96-93 overall and 35-61 in SEC play.
He recorded only two winning seasons with the Tigers.
Lebo will come in and fill the position left by former coach Matt McCarthy, who is planning to take an administrative job with the Pirates.
The East Carolina Pirates went 10-20 last year overall and 4-12 within Conference USA play.
