Ford and Spiller. Sounds like an expensive law firm, doesn’t it?

Clemson will be sending two explosive players to the NFL this season by those names: WR Jacoby Ford and RB C.J.Spiller.

Ford is the fastest player in the draft and Spiller is that franchise running back that teams froth at the mouth over.

Ford ran a 4.28 at the combine this year, Spiller a 4.37. In college, they were the most productive all-purpose offensive duo in NCAA history.

Spiller finished his four years at Clemson with 5.9 yards-per-carry average. I thought that was a misprint. It’s not. Spiller was practically dominant.

At the pro level, he has the potential to be as good a player as Adrian Peterson or Chris Johnson. On night one of the draft, Spiller will be on the stage with the commissioner very early in the evening.

Ford is not as highly regarded. His size (5′9″, 180 lbs) is a major drawback. Mock drafts project him as middle-rounder. I say phooey to that. Have they ever heard of DeSean Jackson ? Well, Ford is a faster version of Jackson, who gives opponents major problems.

My fear is that Ford will be taken by one of the top passing teams. He is a player that can stretch the field, get behind the defense and bolster the kick return game.

He could end up in New Orleans, Dallas, Minnesota, New England, Houston, or Indianapolis which would leave pundits scratching their heads...”How did THAT happen..?”
